I think of Time Travel, I think of all the old "What If" questions with which we dallied in grade school and junior high ... you know
  • if you could be anyone in all of history for one day, whom would you be?
  • if you could chance one event in history, what would that event be?
  • if you could meet any three people throughout history who ...

Superboy proved conclusively, for me, that history could not by changed.  He tried to save Abraham Lincoln from being assassinated by John Wilkes Booth -- that was the first time I remember him trying to change history; he never quite learned his lesson; he kept trying; he kept failing ... .

Science Fiction authors showed me the consequences of succeeding, if only by breaking our reality into pocket dimensions of parallel universes in which Imperial Rome neither declined nor fell ... in which the South won the Civil War ... the Nazis won World War II ... .  James Tiberius Kirk was forced to choose to allow Joan Collins to be struck by a truck to allow her soul to reincarnate in Dynasty so that world peace might not come about too soon ... or something like that.

Time Travel -- the very concept is hackneyed and worn -- but still fun.  And Kay Weems little collection of tales reassured me of this.

It was/it is fun.   And I welcomed the opportunity to illustrate it.  That part was even more fun.

Ultimately, however, I found myself disappointed.  The spots I executed were -- I feel -- adequate only.

So I conjured this idea ...

I recreated -- or, at least -- adapted the original illustrations to a different 'medium' --> the website.  I set up a small gallery here in MishKar.  A decent scanner.  Some PhotoShop.   And a more uniform purpose and perspective present precision ... and depth to each spot.  Filters reached beyond the individual illustration's original construct --
