MishKar Library

MishKar's Library grew naturally from the various literary and small press publications I began and ended over the years. The names varied from year to year; they were often changed to confound the innocent. Some of them -- Sanitarium, for example --> one of my sons began Sanitarium while he was in high school; it lasted, I think, four issues; others -- Owen Morgan's Pyrate comes to mind --> ran for several years <!> My own publications were called Jar, Goe, Me and My Shadow ... God only knows what else ... . There must have been dozens of names over the years. Many of the poems in the Library were originally published one one or the other of these publications; I'm a packrat; I'll keep anything ... my wife tells me. Other poems, some of the stories ... have been submitted over the internet or handed to me on streetcorners ... thrown from passing cars ... dropped, casually ... by No matter ... . Pick a name. Enjoy the piece. The artwork is mine. I'll admit, readily, that one of the joys of maintaining this library is the opportunity to illustrate the works of others --> selfish, I know, but it's something I've enjoyed for well over twenty-some years; it's what makes the interminably pitched battles on the small press front barely tolerable. It also tests my mettle ... warms the cockles of my heart ... and drains the antifreeze ... . Change the oil. Check the pressure on that left rear tire; it looks low. Nadan. Feel free to submit a poem or two for consideration; the Library is always open. Someone will receive it. I promise to answer ... .
